- Change the rules of competition: Tesla is changing the rules of competition; rather than competing on existing features – the number of speakers or the size of the wheels – they’re creating a new playground where they’re dominating and the gap with the competition is increasingly widening
- Make it easy for users to experience the product: Autopilot is a software-based feature, making it easy to offer free trials. Once users experience autopilot, it’s hard to go back. Meanwhile, try giving free trials on high-quality car audio or air suspensions
- Create built-In virality: Autopilot is inherently viral. Users love telling their autopilot experience to their friends.. I literally have several friends asking me if I’m still driving myself
